The New Year has brought with it a burst of energy and excitement for all that is ahead. The school calendar allowed us a mini faculty retreat last week. As always, it is an inspiration to witness the depth of dedication and the innovative creative spirit of my colleagues. We can’t wait to share our plans with you!
Welcome new Upper School student Gabriel Lebold and family to our Camelot Community.
Congrats…there was no break from “good news” for our students…
…to senior Sean Kowis on his acceptance to the Villanova School of Business with a 60K merit scholarship!
…to senior Kendall Sliva on her acceptance to Elon University with an 18K Elon Engagement Scholarship and to Rollins College with a 108K Alonzo Rollins Scholarship!
…to freshman Ephram Oliver for receiving Honorable Mention in the 2018 New York Times Student Review Contest!
Thanks to Ms. Amy and Ms. Jill, we kicked off the year with our biggest and best-ever alumni reunion! It was wonderful to see members of the last six graduating classes delight in seeing each other again and to catch up on all the excitement in their lives!
Over break, the City of Durham removed the large oak tree that sat on the neighboring property and graced our exit for over two hundred years. Although the removal was unavoidable, we are happy to have salvaged the wood. We have plans to mill it for furniture pieces that will keep its legacy alive for many more generations.
Tenth and eleventh grade students who took the PSAT in October should now be able to access their scores online through the College Board website. We will review these scores in February Family Conferences.
