We welcome new Jr MAPP student Henry Thomsen and his family to our school.
Congratulations to senior Sam Weiner on his acceptance to Kalamazoo College with an 84K Lux Esto Merit Scholarship.
Kudos to second grader Joanna Coker for creating the drawing that was selected for our yearbook cover.
Way to go, FLL Robotics team, for being awarded the Gracious Professionalism Award at the State Competition last week.
Yay to Ms. Liz and her MAPP art students!  Check out the clever and beautiful winter scene they created in the stairwell.  Recognize anyone?
Many thanks to our amazing Team Camelot for their behind-the-scenes teamwork in processing first semester grades and report cards.  When our dear Ms. Jill came down with the flu a week before the “grades out” deadline, my sister Donna (Camelot’s IT support in Florida) took over in Achieve, while Mr. Tom, Mr. Dan, Ms. Magda and Mr. Irfan all jumped in with weekend and after school hours to assist. Meanwhile, Ms. Wendy and Mr. Scott managed the bustling office seamlessly.  It takes a village - and we certainly have a wonderful one!  We are happy to report Ms. Jill is well, all deadlines were met, and we are moving on to Family Conference week.
Speaking of Family Conferences, huge thanks to Ms. Jill, who worked from home on the very complex task of scheduling three days of these important meetings.  Please be sure to review first semester grades, reports and comments in preparation for our time together.  It is also helpful to arrive a few minutes early so you can review student work before your meeting.  Please be reminded that all Middle and Upper School conferences include our students!
We are very excited to launch our application season for the Global Studies Certificate Program! This two-year program is for rising 10th and 11th graders in the 2019-20 school year. As we face an increasingly interconnected world, students need to develop knowledge and skills that will help them be true global citizens. We have created a program to help students find extra opportunities to do just that. Successful completion will earn students a certificate and special transcript notation. The program has various requirements, such as academic achievements, community service, cultural exposure activities and leadership milestones. Applications and additional information are available here: Applications are due February 12, 2019 and interviews for all applicants are tentatively scheduled for February 22. Contact Ms. Charlotte at with any questions.
