As of 10:15 AM we have no testing results – Monday will be virtual – read below for the rest of the week.

Albeit not exactly as planned - we started 2022 TOGETHER - with almost no absentees and with classes fully attended and taught by their teachers. Irrespective of health, test status or geography (we had students join from out of state and out of the country) we were TOGETHER. We actually had the best attendance records of the school year last week! Thank you to every parent, student and teacher for making this connection-of-all possible.

-         To senior Natalie Bailey - on her acceptances to Elon University  and UNC Wilmington

-         To Instructor Ab Watkins on earning a Certificate of Completion from the Data Analytics Boot Camp at UNC

-         Morning Meeting each day was a GREAT way to start. On Thursday, Middle and Upper School students enjoyed sharing pets and other treasured things at home.

-         Teachers and students alike had winning attitudes both about revisiting some things they miss from “virtual days gone by” or sharing things they DON’T miss and are glad are short-lived this time.

-         Parking lot screening each day on campus this week

-         Please have your student stay home if  they or ANYONE IN THE HOUSEHOLD has symptoms OR a POSITIVE COVID test within the past 7 days (contact me to work through individual circumstances)

-         Students on campus may have some remote instructors (based on test results) - and should be prepared with a fully charged device, charging cord and headphones to participate (the known virtual instructors list – if any – will be shared when we have test results)

-         Students who are virtual due to test results or other circumstances should check each Google Classroom each day for direction.  (I will send you a separate email with more info when we have test results )

-         Please check the condition of your student’s masks and review updated standards as to the best/most effective choice under current high-transmission circumstances.

None reporting at this time.  I’ll send another email when they are in.

-         Middle grades Morning Meeting at 8:15 – Ms. Michelle will send link

National Honor Society Announcement:

Camelot students and families, the National Honor Society is hosting another Service Saturday! Service Saturdays were started to encourage students to do community service every month. This week’s Service Saturday, we would like for students, parents, and alumni to visit your local park, forest, or otherwise public place, and pick up trash. Bottles, food wrappers, discarded single-use plastics, and other waste worsen our environment and the animals that inhabit it. If you would like to learn more about this event, more information is on the NHS bulletin board and in the English Google Classrooms. All work that you do this weekend contributes to our Firework service-hour counter! This Service Saturday will be held on the weekend of January 15th, but remember, you can do community service every day, and not just the weekend!

Saturday, January 22  10-11 AM     VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE!!!

- Open House for our families who want to learn more about a different division of the school and for prospective families.  We especially encourage parents of 4th, 7th and 8th graders to attend. We will look forward to discussing all aspects of our program - including our unique opportunities for high school students to earn credit in almost any area of interest both through attendance at local colleges, online arrangements and individually created independent study opportunities.

In the event that your student has a NEGATIVE test result and you have not already told me otherwise, we are assuming they will be on campus this week.  In the event that your student will be virtual this week, PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL ASAP to let me know so we can prepare for their instruction accordingly.
