Greetings!

Congratulations to sophomore Ruby Richey whose submissions to the Scholastic Arts Award Competition were recognized with a Gold and Silver Key Award.

Thanks to Ms. Jill for coordinating a marvelous Open House yesterday. Never one to be idle for long, she goes into the coming week set to work her “puzzle magic” on the February Family Conference Schedule.

BEHIND THE SCENES:

I spent much of the week in the back office - away from my beloved perch on the porch - reading each and every report card comment and following every link to templates and rubrics prepared with much care by our teachers.  Meanwhile, the excitement of X Schedule activities could be heard coming from every direction.  It makes for a lovely soundtrack to the paperwork.

REMIND:

Picture info went home with students on Friday - please see the email sent home from Ms .Wendy for details about viewing and ordering Fall pictures or making arrangements for retakes on February 8.

NHS Announcement:

We have been - and still are - collecting Valentine’s Day candy and items from the RMHC’s Wish list, which is linked at the end of this email.  With your help, we can support free food and housing near Duke Hospital for the families of hospitalized children.  Collection runs through Friday, February 9 - bins are on the porch near the side door.

ANNOUNCE:

Summer Programs!

Temperatures may just be thawing, but summer is just around the corner -- and so are summer camps! This June and July, we are offering a range of themed day camps for ages 3 and up. Whether you have a MAPP-aged child who is curious about animal tracks, a Middle Grader who loves to hike and build forts, or an older student interested in homesteading, we have something for you. Registration opens via the Camelot website on February 1.

Wellness Update:

We had one new case of COVID this week in the student body. No known exposures or spread.

I hope you have a great week.

Best,

Thelma
