Greetings!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the pie-of-all-kinds outpouring on Friday.  What a hit!  Kudos to Reed and Sarah for chairing the festivities and for orchestrating the efforts of the team to pull off a fun event and to spark curiosity about all kinds of pi(e).

Congratulations to senior Griffin Stauffer on his acceptance to UNC Greensboro and to Elon University.

BEHIND THE SCENES:

In addition to the many proud moments we are having with our students, last week there was a standout moment on our team at the faculty retreat.  I often provide podcast choices prior to a workday and then we divide into discussion groups accordingly.  The Monday whole-group debriefing of two topics - the importance of play and the need for adolescent autonomy - had wheels turning and very engaged listening and participation.  As I surveyed the room, I felt especially grateful to be among this group of passionate and thoughtful educators. They are an inspiration.

REMIND:

The coming week is another BIG ONE!

-         Upper School X Schedule - including two Gold overnight trips

-         MAPP Academic Fair on Thursday

Then, the following week…

ERB testing is Tuesday-Thursday, March 24-26

-         Testing is in the mornings for Grades 2-10 (please limit late arrivals and leaving for appointments.)

-         Nature Start and 1st graders will be on field trips

-         11th and 12th graders will be at Yates for a combination of math time, ACT and AP test prep, essay and speech writing.

ANNOUNCE:

All levels of Battle Of the Books will have a final celebration on Monday after school from 3:30-4:30.  Student will play games, recommend books for future years, and take a yearbook picture, so all should wear their yellow shirts.  Students are encouraged to bring a food to share that is somehow related to one of the books.

We are planning an in-house talent show after ERB testing on Tuesday, March 24.  Upper School sign-up is in their English Google Classroom, Lower School students sign-up with Katie.

Juniors (Class of ‘27) should check the College Guidance Google Classroom for dual enrollment deadlines and info.  Summer and Fall registration deadlines at UNC CH and Durham Tech are upon us!

Camelot Featured Summer Program:

STEM in the Summer - taught by Bev - 12- 18 year olds

July 6-10, 2026

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math are cornerstones of understanding our universe. In this five-day program, students curious about STEM will investigate the many ways that these subjects complement each other through hands-on experiences in biology, chemistry, physics, technology, and engineering problem-solving, all while reinforcing their math skills through real-life applications.

NOTE: Registered students will be contacted with a required survey prior to the start of the program so that activities can be tailored to their individual needs and interests.
