Weekly Update for 04/19/2026
Sunday, April 19, 2026
Greetings!
Last week was another big week “on the road.” Middle Grades and S.r MAPP students took trips to the zoo, Purple Theater students attended Steel Magnolias at Playmakers, and yesterday there was a special Middle Grades excursion to Richmond, VA. The learning and memories from these journeys are invaluable and we appreciate the parent chaperones, and support, to make it all possible.
Good News:
Congratulations to the following students for their recognition on the National Latin Exam:
Vulcan Coker - Magna Cum Laude on the Beginning Latin exam
Lily Sperry- Magna Cum Laude on the Intermediate Latin Exam
BEHIND THE SCENES:
We are busy getting ready for the week of April 27. On Tuesday of that week our NIPSA re-accreditation guests will be onsite and on Friday we host Evening of the Arts. It is exciting to look forward to sharing our work and our students’ accomplishments in these ways.
REMIND:
This Tuesday, April 21 @ 7 PM, the Class of ‘27 students and parents join me on Zoom (link below) to take stock of our college prep progress thus far and to plan for the summer and fall.
School closed this Friday (April 24) for a Teacher Work Day.
ANNOUNCE:
We have ADDED summer programs for our youngest set (Summer Nature Start for 4-6 year olds) and our oldest group (2 options for SAT Prep).
In addition, Bev spoke to all of our Upper School students this week about the programs she is offering based on student interest - including “Adulting 101 aka Life Skills,” Cooking, Following the Eno and Summer STEM.
You can check it all out here: https://camelotacademy.jumbula.com/
Amy Shields will be in touch this week with info about helping us spread the word.
The Farm Stand will be selling fresh eggs on Monday after school!
The updated arrival time for student performers at Evening of the Arts on Friday, May 1 (all of MAPP, all of Middle, many Upper - including all Seniors - is 5:30 pm)- at the Holton Career and Resource Center.
Wellness Update:
We ended last week with a notable uptick in MAPP student illness. Families reported a mix of symptoms including GI and fever. Please keep your student home for at least 24 hours on the other side of either of these symptoms.
I hope you have a great week.
Best,
Thelma
