Transportation between the Academy and field trip destinations will be provided using school vans and buses. | Description | Calling all young chefs! Kids in the Kitchen is a hands-on, confidence-building cooking program where kids ages 9–12 learn real kitchen skills while having a whole lot of fun. Students will plan meals, follow recipes, practice safe knife skills, and cook both sweet and savory dishes from scratch. Each day blends cooking, baking, and food science as students explore why recipes work, experiment with flavors, and learn the basics of nutrition and kitchen safety. From cultural cuisine days to friendly cooking challenges, students will collaborate, create, and gain independence in the kitchen. Students will leave with new skills, favorite recipes, and the confidence to help out (or take over!) at home. No prior cooking experience needed, just curiosity and an appetite! This program is ideal for kids who love to create, experiment, and eat their work!who love being outdoors and for families seeking meaningful summer learning rooted in place-based education, environmental science, curiosity, and care for the natural world. |
